Determining Violence Potential (Disc 1)
Assessment for Acting Out, Bullying, Aggression and Violence

Children’s aggressive or hurtful behavior can come from a variety of reasons and conditions beyond bullying. Understanding the underlying motivations and energy are crucial for handling and preventing such behaviors. There may be aggressive, impulsive, obsessive and violent behaviors and/or thoughts or writings. There are often complex issues and circumstances that make an individual "act out" or become moody. Effective support and intervention comes from appropriate assessments. The dvd helps educators and other professionals differentiate among:

• individuals with challenging behaviors, that are relatively simple and benign to handle (low potential for aggression and/or violence),
• individuals with more problematic episodic and/or more intense behaviors (moderate potential for aggression and/or violence),
• and individuals with high potential for aggression and/or violence.

Fifteen or more specific criteria will be introduced to help clinicians differentiate danger potential and intervention processes. This information gives guidance for both treatment and preventative work. Nine to ten difference reasons and their relative potential for aggressions and violence will be examined with strategies for prevention and management. TRT 108min
